About This Project

Why I Created This Calculator

My Goal

I created this World Athletics Scoring Tables Calculator to make the official WA scoring system more accessible to everyone: athletes, coaches, and athletics students. I believe comparing performances between different events should be simple and fast, and that is the goal of this tool.

Why I Built This Tool

As an athlete, I have always enjoyed comparing performance between different disciplines. But an interesting question comes up: how do you fairly compare a sprinter's 100m time with the distance of a shot put throw? The World Athletics Scoring Tables provide the answer, but accessing them and calculating the scores quickly was not always easy.

Many existing tools were outdated, not intuitive, or had very basic designs. Athletes, coaches, and fans deserved something better: a modern, fast, and easy-to-use calculator that works instantly and also allows you to keep a history to visually compare different performances, all using the most recent scoring tables.

Designed for Athletes, Coaches, Clubs and Universities

Whether you are an athlete analyzing your strongest events, a coach comparing your team's performances, or a student studying athletics scoring systems, this calculator is designed to provide instant, accurate, and easy-to-compare results.

What Makes This Tool Different

The Technology Behind It

This calculator is built with modern web technologies (Astro, TypeScript, and vanilla JavaScript) to ensure speed, reliability, and accessibility. All scoring calculations run directly in your browser using the official WA formulas — no data is sent to external servers, making it both fast and privacy-friendly.

All formulas and coefficients come directly from the official documentation of the World Athletics Scoring Tables 2025. I regularly update the data to ensure accuracy and compliance with the latest WA standards.

Who Am I?

My name is David Ballester Ribó. I am an athlete and web developer living in Badalona, Spain. I have competed at regional and national athletics competitions, and I know how essential scoring tables are for measuring athletic performance and comparing results fairly.

This project combines my passion for athletics with my web development skills. I wanted to create a tool that I would personally use: something clean, fast, reliable, and easy to use.

Note: This calculator is a personal project and is not officially affiliated with World Athletics. All scoring data comes from the publicly available documentation of the World Athletics Scoring Tables 2025.
